Labor Leader Bryan Green is crying crocodile tears after yesterday's disappointing news that Venture has delayed its Riley operation.
The previous Labor-Green Government, of which Mr Green was Deputy Premier, not only sent mixed messages to investors, it failed to act to stop the frivolous and vexatious third party appeals that has frustrated developers.
Unlike Labor, the Liberal Government is working to create a better business environment for investors, including the critical planning reform that Mr Green failed to deliver.
We will crack down on third party appeals; limiting appeals to those directly affected or to community groups with a long standing interest, and excluding those groups expressly set up to oppose development.
We will further ensure that those who lodge appeals wear the costs when they are unsuccessful.
The Liberal Government is also working with the Federal Government to see what action can be taken to address the clear abuse of the Federal Court by Green front groups pursuing their anti-job agenda.
While Labor remains wedded to the Green hip; the Liberal Government is getting on with the job of supporting our mining industry.
