Bryan Green misleads Parliament

The Opposition Leader has seriously misled Parliament and must apologise to the House.

On Wednesday Bryan Green claimed the Liberal Government had failed to seek costs in the Federal Court case between Venture and the Tarkine National Coalition.

What he did not reveal was that it was the former Labor-Green government, of which he was Deputy Premier, that signed up to a binding agreement, which meant no costs would be sought.

This agreement was reached on January 16 this year when Mr Green was Minister for Mines.

You can't tell me as Deputy Premier of the former Labor-Green government, Bryan Green did not know this was happening. You can't tell me he didn't know a deal was done.

Yet on Wednesday he attempted to mislead the House of Assembly and the Tasmanian people.

His hypocrisy is astounding and he should apologise to the mining industry and to the Parliament.
