Blue Derby Pods Ride ready to shine

The Hodgman Government remains committed to making Tasmania the environmental tourism capital of the world.

Blue Derby Trails was one of the successful tenders under our EOI process that has created jobs and opened up our stunning natural areas for tourism opportunities, and I am very pleased that they are officially taking bookings for their new mountain bike experience, the Blue Derby Pods Ride.

This unique wilderness experience is a three-day ride through the stunning Blue Derby Mountain Bike Trail network, with riders able to immerse themselves in the beauty of North East Tasmania.

All food and beverages are locally sourced, which will help boost the local economy, and Blue Derby Trails expects eight full-time jobs to be created in the next 12 months as operations ramp up.

It’s a great endorsement of the positive impact our EOI process has had, with job opportunities and economic development being realised in regional and rural areas of Tasmania that will help us reach our goal of attracting 1.5 million visitors to the state by 2020.
