Big win for Launceston’s Definium Technologies

Launceston based ICT Company Definium Technologies is going from strength to strength, landing a major new contract to supply hi-tech electronic components to a large-scale mining project with international reach.

The $1.5 million contract will see Definium locally develop and manufacture 31 cutting-edge multi-channel LoRa gateways and approximately 6 500 sensors for the Australian mining sector.

This new project will create up to six jobs immediately, with plans to more than double the total number of company employees in the next 12-18 months.

The rebirth of Tasmania’s advanced manufacturing industry is reaping economic and jobs benefits locally as well as putting local companies on the national and global stage across niche manufacturing, and cutting edge research, training and education.

We are proud to have supported Definium’s continued growth with support from both the Department of State Growth and the Office of the Coordinator-General and through our Innovation and Growth Voucher System and Advanced Manufacturing Market Expansion Program.
