Bec White Wrong - Again

Labor has shown once again they're more interested in scaremongering than the truth after asking yet another unfounded question in Parliament today.

Either Labor is being deliberately misleading to try to get their nonsense claims up or they're too lazy to do their homework.

Rebecca White's claim that an email was sent to Ambulance Tasmania staff asking them to nominate each other's jobs is complete rubbish – no such email was ever sent.

Ambulance Tasmania is appropriately consulting with its staff as the Department of Health and Human Services works to achieve its savings task – a job made harder with the rejection of the pay freeze by Labor and the unions.

There has been no final decision on any reduction in FTE numbers at Ambulance Tasmania, which AT made clear in its staff consultation and which Rebecca White failed to mention in Parliament.

As we've said before, we will not be applying a "blanket" one size fits all approach of requiring all agencies to find all of the savings necessary to offset those from the pay freeze that were factored into their agreed agency allocations.

Rather, we will allocate savings across agencies on a basis that balances the areas of highest priority, the need to minimise impacts on the frontline, and the ability of agencies to deliver higher levels of efficiency.

We make no apologies for cutting the corporate backline so we can reinvest in the frontline.  Rebecca White should apologise for her baseless scaremongering
