Bang for your buck over Easter

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to reducing the cost of living for Tasmanians.

The fickle price of petrol can be a frustration for motorists, particularly through periods of high demand like Easter.

To help reduce the impact of petrol prices on the household budgets this Easter, I encourage Tasmanian motorists to download the GasBuddy petrol price app.

GasBuddy, supported by the RACT and enabled by a $60,000 one-off grant from the Hodgman Government, helps connect motorists with timely information on petrol prices in their area.

GasBuddy - launched in Australia in March last year - is a free mobile app that provides public access to service station petrol prices sourced from consumer-submitted data.

By using GasBuddy, Tasmanian motorists will easily be able to find timely and accurate fuel prices in their area, and also submit fuel price updates themselves.

The RACT and GasBuddy are to be congratulated and I’m confident with the support of Tasmanian motorists it will be a great success.
