Labor’s Scott Bacon has again proven why he will never be more than a Failed Former Finance Minister sitting on the Opposition benches.
The point that Mr Bacon fails to grasp, is that Tasmania has more certainty than ever before when it comes to GST.
The Prime Minster and the Federal Finance Minister have guaranteed Tasmania will not be a cent worse off. I note Labor leader Bill Shorten has made no such guarantee.
The fact is the distribution of the GST is always subject to annual relativity determinations.
Mr Bacon fails to understand this, and what’s worse he is using it as an excuse not do an Alternative Budget.
I suspect the real reason why Mr Bacon won’t do an Alternative Budget is because it will show all the promises Labor made but never had any intention to deliver.
