Australian International Education Conference

It is an honour for Tasmania to host the Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) - the largest international education conference in the southern hemisphere.

Each year, the AIEC is an important opportunity for international education practitioners, teaching staff, researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders to be informed about major industry trends and to network with Australian and international colleagues.

This year the theme for the conference is “Embracing Diversity”, which reflects the enthusiasm and the challenges of diversity in international education.

The AIEC is jointly hosted by IDP Education and the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA) – a significant gathering of influential leaders who are at the fore-front of the international education industry.

The Hodgman Liberal Government is a strong supporter of international education and its contribution to the economy. As well as helping students and the education community learn about different cultures and languages, international visitors increase Tasmania’s engagement with our key export markets, help upskill our local workforce, and importantly help us reach our goal of 1.5 million visitors a year by 2020.
