Guy Barnett, Minister for Energy

Aurora Energy

Aurora Energy has an important role to play in the Hodgman Liberal Government’s Tasmanian First Energy policy which is delivering the lowest power prices in the nation and includes a goal for the State to become fully self-sufficient in renewable energy by 2022.

Aurora Energy actively participated with Tasmanians through its new Community Program, which saw $30,000 worth of grants gifted to projects that make a positive difference in the lives of Tasmanians.

The company also continued its Your Energy Support (YES) program which identifies and assists vulnerable customers to manage their energy use and affordability.

Since its launch in November 2014, more than 3175 customers have successfully completed the program, taking control of their energy use and bill payments.

Furthermore, since its commencement in May 2018 Aurora Energy’s Farm Energy Advocate service has sponsored two key Agribusiness events; the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association Seventy-Year Anniversary Dinner and the Dairy Industry Association of Australia conference.

These sponsorships have provided important opportunities for representatives from the Farm Energy Advocate service to meet with local agribusinesses owners and operators and discuss the support services offered by the Farm Energy Advocate.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is proud of Aurora’s achievements, and the important work they do within Tasmanian communities.
