Applications Open for Sport and Recreation Major Grants Program

The Hodgman Liberal Government is committed to encouraging Tasmanians to participate in physical activity to help achieve our goal of becoming the healthiest state by 2025.

From today, applications are now open for funding through our Sport and Recreation Major Grants Program, which is aimed at helping organisations that provide sport and active recreation participation opportunities.

Funds may be used towards major equipment purchases and / or the development or improvement of facilities or playing surfaces.

Projects must directly benefit sport and recreation clubs and improve opportunities for Tasmanians to participate.

It is expected that around $800,000 will be available for distribution, with eligible applicants able to apply for amounts between $15,000 and $80,000 and up to half of their total project costs.

The Program is open from 1 July to 2 November 2017.

Funds are made available from the Community Support Levy.

Communities, Sport and Recreation can be contacted on 1800 204 224 or at csrgrants@dpac.tas.gov.au
