Annual Report confirms strong year for TasTAFE

The TasTAFE Annual Report has confirmed another strong year as we build our workforce for the future.

The report shows a significant increase in apprentice numbers over the past three years, jumping from 3958 in 2015 to 4385 last year.

We are doing everything we can to give our workforce the right skills for the areas that need them, and this increase reflects the strong growth especially in our building and construction sector as we build Tasmania’s future.

TasTAFE has added additional apprentice classes to help meet the increasing demand, in addition to continuing to work in partnership with industry to give apprentices the skills they need for the workforce.

And with the support of industry, TasTAFE is increasing pre-vocational courses in Certificates I and II, which are a direct pathway to Certificate III trade opportunities and will help support growth in future apprentice numbers.

It reflects the vital role that TasTAFE plays in developing Tasmania’s skilled workforce and the value it adds to the Tasmanian economy.

We will continue doing everything we can to support TasTAFE as we deliver on our long-term plan to improve the lives of every Tasmanian.
