AFL Inclusion Carnival

Today marks the last day of the resoundingly successful AFL Inclusion Carnival in Launceston, which has given many young Tasmanians the opportunity to participate in their favourite game.

The final will be played as the curtain raiser to the Hawthorn v Gold Coast match at the University of Tasmania Stadium this afternoon.

Now in its fifth year, the AFL Inclusion Carnival is a national tournament for male players over the age of 16 who are living with an intellectual disability.

The Hodgman Liberal Government is a firm believer in the positive benefits of playing sport and being active.

Congratulations to the New Horizons Club, AFL Tasmania and the City of Launceston on their successful bid  to host the Carnival in Launceston.

I wish the players all the best for today’s final and I hope that all participants, their families and supporters have had an enjoyable week in Tasmania.
