Advanced Manufacturing Market Expansion Program 2016-17

Supporting and growing Tasmania’s manufacturing industry has been an ongoing commitment from the Hodgman Liberal Government.

The Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Action Plan includes the establishment of an Advanced Manufacturing Market Expansion Program (AMMEP) that will encourage business expansion and job creation, and I am pleased to announce applications will open tomorrow for this important initiative.

The AMMEP is an exciting and valuable program that will offer eligible manufacturing enterprises a financial rebate to offset the costs of marketing activities in international or national markets.

Tasmanian exporters and their products are increasingly in demand with the latest ABS figures confirming our world class reputation, and this program will foster industry collaboration and collective brand building.

In the 12 months to June 2016, Tasmania’s export sector grew by 12.3 per cent and this was the fastest rate of growth in Australia.  Nationally, the value of exports declined by 4.4 per cent for this same period.

We will continue to deliver for our manufacturers to allow them to succeed and create further jobs and opportunities for Tasmanians.

Applications open on Thursday, 25 August and further information is available from the Department of State Growth website www.stategrowth.tas.gov.au
