We support today’s determination by the independent director of the Environmental Protection Authority regarding the new biomass limits in Macquarie Harbour.
The EPA is independently and adaptively managing the Harbour and the biomass limits using the latest data and science under the tough new regulatory processes we established.
The trial of a waste collection system in June is another example of science and technology being used in adaptive management and helping the industry grow sustainably.
The Tasmanian Government will continuing to work with the industry to support sustainable growth, support jobs and promote Brand Tasmania and we urge all sectors of the industry to work together to help achieve this outcome.
