Acting on the cost of living part of the Hodgman Government’s Plan

The Hodgman Government knows that the cost of living is a real issue for Tasmanians.

So as part of our Plan to build your future the Hodgman Government will take action on the cost of living.

We have taken action to keep power prices low, reduce car registration costs and fares on the Spirit of Tasmania.

A re-elected majority Hodgman Liberal Government will keep the cost of living down.  We will make sure that the cost of government services, for things like drivers licences and car rego, national park fees and bus fares, will be kept, on average, at or below the rate of inflation over the next four years.

Importantly, there will be no new or increased taxes under a re-elected majority Hodgman Liberal Government.

We want Tasmania to remain one of the most affordable places in the country to live, work and raise a family, especially for the elderly and those on low and fixed incomes.

This is all part of our positive new Plan which we will take to the next election. This will be our Plan for a re-elected majority Liberal Government.

The Plan focuses on six priority areas we know are important to you –

  • To deliver a stronger economy and more jobs
  • Act on the cost of living
  • Invest more into health, education and Tasmanians in need
  • Keep Tasmanians safe
  • Protect the Tasmanian way of life, and
  • Build Tasmania’s infrastructure for the 21st century.

Our new Plan contains 43 specific ways we’ll improve the lives of you and your family.

Under our Plan to Build Your Future we’ll make our State an even better place to live, and take Tasmania to the next level.
