Accelerating smart energy innovations

*Embargoed until 7:30pm 12 December 2019*

The Tasmanian Smart Energy Accelerator led by EnergyLab, has officially powered-up at Macquarie House in Launceston.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is a strong supporter of the ICT sector in Tasmania, which is why we’re investing $900,000 to help turn the concepts of Tasmania’s best and brightest into viable, real-world products and services.

The first of its kind in Australia, the EnergyLab Smart Energy-IoT Accelerator will support local and international tech start-ups to develop their ideas and take their concepts to market in the clean energy sector.

With a mix of local and international entrepreneurs, it is clear that Tasmania’s tech expertise and entrepreneurial spirit is being recognised world-wide, and helps deliver on our plan to deliver Tasmanian residents and businesses the lowest regulated electricity prices in the nation and reach 100 per cent self-sufficiency in renewables by 2022.
