12 new paramedics for the North West

The Hodgman Liberal Government is able to reinvest in essential services such as health because we have put the budget back on track.

This includes the recruitment of 12 new paramedics to be based in the North West.

The new recruits are currently undergoing an intensive induction program at Ambulance Tasmania.

The new paramedics will form two additional crews based in the Latrobe/Devonport area and are part of a much larger commitment to bolster patient transport right around the State.

In total 24 paramedics have been recruited statewide in Ambulance Tasmania’s latest cohort.

In addition, recruitment is progressing for new Extended Care Paramedics for Launceston, which are another important part of our $24 million patient transport commitment.

The new recruits will take up their posts from 1 July.

The Government will continue to work hard to deliver better health outcomes for all Tasmanians as part of our One Health System reforms.
