$150,000 to fund NatureTrackers project

The Hodgman Liberal Government understands the importance of education in giving students the skills they need to succeed in life and contribute to the community.

That is why I am pleased to announce a grant of $150,000 to the Bookend Trust to deliver their NatureTrackers program across our Government schools, to help students learn more about threatened species and set up monitoring of threatened species across Tasmania.

Having engaged 2,500 students in Tasmanian Government schools in 2017, the Bookend Trust gives students of all ages the opportunity to develop an interest in the environment, focusing on career opportunities in this area.

I have personally attended Bookend Trust presentations and have been enormously impressed with the student activity and engagement.

The Hodgman Liberal Government will continue to Build Your Future through education, and initiatives such as this helps create career pathways to a good job and a good quality of life.
