$1.4 million development on King Island

The Hodgman Liberal Government’s number one priority is jobs, and the Regional Revival Fund is one of our initiatives to create jobs and drive economic growth in regional areas.

I am pleased that Ettrick Rocks on King Island is one of eight projects that have received funding to assist with the development of new luxury accommodation.

Ettrick Rocks received $200,000 through the Regional Revival Fund, with the total project cost coming to $1.4 million.

The Liberal Government established the Regional Revival Fund to unlock the development potential of a number of major private sector projects currently sitting idle due to cost constraints.

The latest round of the Regional Revival Fund will support eight projects that will create around 95 direct jobs during the investment phase as well as an estimated 170 ongoing positions.

The eight new projects will deliver a total of $16.8 million in direct investment through our partnership model which requires joint funding from project proponents or other partners.

Strategic investment in infrastructure drives economic growth and creates jobs and it is critical we invest in our regional communities.
