Justice

The State Government is committed to an accessible, efficient and effective justice system for all Tasmanians with contemporary laws that help create an inclusive, just, safe and forward-thinking society.
Labor also plans to reduce re-offending rates and foster community confidence. It continues to develop and maintain a strong Prison Service and Community Corrections Service to achieve this objective. While incarcerated, offenders are provided with a wide range of opportunities for rehabilitation and personal development.
The State Government has embraced the vision of Tasmania Together, specifically Goal 2: confident, friendly and safe communities. Fostering high-quality services that create a fair, safe and equitable marketplace for consumers through the Office of Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading is also important to the Government.
