Working Cooperatively on Child Protection Fri 25 May 2012 Minister for Children Minister for Children The Minister for Children, Michelle O'Byrne, said she was pleased industrial action in the Child Protection Service had been averted following meetings between herself, unions and the Department over the past two days. Ms O'Byrne said representatives from the Department meet with representatives of the CPSU and HACSU and a number of key points of dispute were able to be clarified. "I have made it very clear that my office and my Department will do everything possible to address the concerns raised by child protection workers," she said. "Their work is always challenging and I am committed to doing all I can to support them and the children we are all striving to protect. "I hope that we can continue to work cooperatively with staff and unions on these issues and our ongoing efforts to reform and improve the services we offer children and families in Tasmania."
