Testing of Variable Speed Limit signs on Tasman Bridge

Thu 10 May 2012

Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources

Essential testing of the new Variable Speed Limit signs on the
Tasman Bridge will take place next week.

The testing will occur from Monday 14 May to Friday 18 May
outside of peak hours.

During this period, electronic speed signs on the bridge will be
activated intermittently and will display a speed limit between 40 to 70
kmh.

Motorists are urged to ignore the electronic signs and drive to
the static 70 kmh speed limit signs on the
bridge.

There will be no impact on lanes and no road closures are
expected.

Tasmania Police has been
advised.
