Testing of Variable Speed Limit signs on Tasman Bridge Thu 10 May 2012 Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources Essential testing of the new Variable Speed Limit signs on the Tasman Bridge will take place next week. The testing will occur from Monday 14 May to Friday 18 May outside of peak hours. During this period, electronic speed signs on the bridge will be activated intermittently and will display a speed limit between 40 to 70 kmh. Motorists are urged to ignore the electronic signs and drive to the static 70 kmh speed limit signs on the bridge. There will be no impact on lanes and no road closures are expected. Tasmania Police has been advised.
