September Quarterly Report 2013-14 Fri 6 December 2013 Scott Bacon Minister for Finance The Minister for Finance, Scott Bacon, today released the September Quarterly Report 2013 14 for the General Government Sector and the Consolidated Fund. Mr Bacon said that for the three months ending 30 September 2013, the General Government Net Operating Balance is a deficit of $149 million but outcomes are substantially impacted by seasonal and timing factors. “Fluctuations in revenue for land tax, dividends and Australian Government grants, as well as seasonal patterns of departmental spending are reflected in the results. “As previously forecast in the State Budget, the Government has gone into a Net Debt position, with a balance of $16 million as at 30 September 2013 which primarily relates to the Consolidated Fund deficit of $209 million for the same period,” he said. Mr Bacon said that Net Worth decreased by $1 858 million from $11 792 million for the three month period ending 30 September 2013. “This relates for reporting purposes to the reclassification of the newly formed TasWater to the Local Government Sector,” he said.
