Acting Premier Bryan Green today welcomed news that their Royal Highnesses, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are expected to visit Hobart later this year.

Mr Green said he was delighted Hobart had been included on the itinerary for the six-day visit in November.

"Details of the program have yet to be released but we look forward to the time the Royal couple will spend in the State," Mr Green said

"The Prince of Wales did not visit Tasmania when he was last here seven years ago and it will be the Duchess of Cornwall's first visit to Australia," Mr Green said.

Other Australian destinations for the Royal visit will include Longreach, Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Canberra.
