The Minister for Health, Michelle O'Byrne, has extended the consultation period for the draft Reproductive Health (Access to Terminations) Bill until April 5.

"There has been considerable interest in this Bill, which will enable Tasmanian women to access safe and legal terminations without requiring an exemption from the criminal code," Ms O'Byrne said.

"This is an important issue that many people have strong views on and I am happy to extend the consultation period by two weeks."
