Progress on rock stabilisation on Ben Lomond Road Fri 24 August 2012 Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment Parks and Wildlife Service The Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS) has advised that while there has been progress made today to stabilise a large rock above the road at Jacobs Ladder, the Ben Lomond Road will remain closed overnight. PWS Northern Region manager Chris Colley said the PWS and contractors will continue to work to have the required stabilisation actions completed tomorrow, weather permitting. The road remains closed to traffic from the base of Jacobs Ladder. "Our priority is to have the required stabilisation works carried out as soon as possible so that the road can safely re-open for public access," Mr Colley said. People intending to visit Ben Lomond are advised to check the PWS Facebook site as well as the PWS and other relevant websites for updates on the status of the road.
