No Ideas, Just Tired Old Liberal Stunts Thu 30 August 2012 Michelle O'Byrne Leader of Government Business Leader of Government Business Michelle O'Byrne today condemned the Tasmanian Liberal Opposition for again showing their complete lack of any agenda except reverting to their tired old tactic of wasting Parliament's time. "Once again, Will Hodgman's time-wasting has demonstrated he is so devoid of any ideas that he pulls yet another no-confidence motion. "Since Mr Hodgman showed he lacked the fortitude to take on government in 2010, the Opposition has now moved nine no-confidence motions and two censure motions. "These are Liberal stunts designed to waste Parliament's time and mask the fact that the Liberals have no ideas, no solutions and can do nothing but obsess over negativity and oppose everything. "Mr Hodgman beats his chest and complains about the foresty industry, but not once can he articulate one single idea the Opposition has. "Just as he did when he baulked at becoming Premier when he had the chance, Mr Hodgman is not prepared to make tough decisions. "Only the State Government has the courage and determination to tackle difficult issues - we recognise that they are tough, but we are the ones prepared to take them on for the benefit of Tasmania. "Mr Hodgman thinks that his weakness is a virtue and doing nothing is a legitimate approach to the challenges Tasmania faces. "If getting on and tackling the hard issues upsets Mr Hodgman so much, the Tasmanian public can expect many more similar Liberal stunts, because the State Government makes no apology for getting on with job no matter how difficult the issue. "Mr Hodgman clearly wants to sit back and let divisions flourish in Tasmania - he has no desire for a better future for this State," Ms O'Byrne said.
