New Chief of Staff Mon 4 June 2012 Lara Giddings Premier The Premier, Lara Giddings, today announced the appointment of former Victorian Government adviser Phil Reed as her new Chief of Staff. Ms Giddings said Mr Reed would bring strong political, communications and management skills to the role. "Phil Reed will be a welcome addition to my office and I look forward to working with him," Ms Giddings said. "His extensive career in the public service includes work with Victoria's two largest government insurers, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and the Victorian WorkCover Authority (WorkSafe Victoria). "He has also worked as senior advisor to Victorian Labor Leaders Steve Bracks and John Brumby. "Phil will bring extensive knowledge and experience to his role as head of my office and I look forward to him making a key contribution as we continue to provide strong and stable government in Tasmania," Ms Giddings said. Mr Reed will start work in the Premier's office on 20 June.
