Liberals continue dishonest forest campaign Thu 2 August 2012 Bryan Green Deputy Premier Deputy Premier Bryan Green said today the Liberal Opposition should stop spreading fear and misinformation in the community over forestry. "Mr Hodgman continues to dishonestly claim the closure of the Triabunna wood chip mill is the fault of the Tasmanian Forests Agreement when he knows full well it was closed by Gunns and placed on the market well before the TFA was even contemplated," Mr Green said. "TFA is the response to the market-driven forces that led to the closure of the Triabunna mill in the first place." "Mr Hodgman should be ashamed of using families who have undeniably been affected by the downturn in the forest industry as pawns in is cynical and divisive political game." "Rather than proposing solutions, he is pedaling false hope." "The Government has also visited Triabunna to talk to affected families, but rather than turning our visits into a political circus, we have actually been working to address the underlying issues and secure the future of the forest industry in Tasmania," Mr Green said.
