"All of our athletes have amazing stories; at 19, Amy Cure was one of the youngest members of the track cycling squad. "At the other end of the spectrum, 39-year-old Anthony Edwards has competed in five Olympics, winning two silver medals and a bronze. "We are extremely proud of all of our athletes and look forward to welcoming them home. "There will be lots of free activities for children, including face painting and a chance to try an Olympic sport such as rowing, cycling or hockey with the Tasmanian Institute of Sport. "And all of the Olympians will be signing autographs, which I'm sure would be cherished by sports fans for many years to come. "I encourage Tasmanians to come along and be part of this exciting community celebration." The Mercury Newspaper will run a special lift out in tomorrow's paper featuring all the athletes, which Tasmanians can bring along and have signed on the day.
