The Minister for Education and Skills, Nick McKim, said today individual contracts for staff employed by the Department of Education were a matter for the Department.

Mr McKim said contracts were operational matters.

"I have been informed by the Department that Mark Sayer has been offered an 18 month extension of his contract," he said.

"This timeframe is necessary to enable Mr Sayer to complete the important task of implementing the transition to TasTAFE."
