The Minister for Education and Skills, Nick McKim, said he had asked the
Education Department to carefully consider the Coroner's findings into the death
of Latrobe High School student Rene Levi.

"I have asked the Department to study the findings and provide a response to me as soon as possible," Mr McKim said.
 
"This was a tragic loss of a young student's life and my sympathies are with his family.
 
"The department has already put in place a number of improvements that will support schools when planning for and undertaking outdoor activities.
 
"My thoughts are also with the Latrobe High School community at this difficult time."
