Continued support for Northern Suburbs Light Rail Tue 23 October 2012 Nick McKim Minister for Sustainable Transport The Minister for Sustainable Transport Nick McKim today said that he remains 100% committed to a light rail for Hobart's Northern Suburbs. Mr McKim said he was puzzled by Federal Denison MP Andrew Wilkie's comments today on a light rail for the Northern Suburbs. "Mr Wilkie claims to have delivered hundreds of millions of dollars into Denison, but he has failed to deliver a single red cent for a light rail system. "The reason a light rail submission has not yet been made to the Commonwealth is because I am having the business case reviewed, as requested by the Northern Suburbs Light Rail Group. "With input from stakeholders from the Light Rail Community Advisory Panel, including the Northern Suburbs Light Rail Group, that is underway right now. "I expect the final peer review report, by AECOM Ltd, to be finished by December."
