Tasmanians have been urged to get behind the Tassie Hawks in tomorrow's AFL Grand Final.

The Premier, Lara Giddings, said Hawthorn had shown their class all season and would be a strong chance against the Swans.

"Tasmanians are passionate about their footy and have forged a strong relationship with Hawthorn as a result of the State Government's sponsorship deal to play four games a year at Aurora Stadium," Ms Giddings said.

"As part of our arrangement, Tasmania will be one of the club's first ports of call if they win the flag tomorrow.

"Just as in 2008, I know there are many Tasmanians who would relish the opportunity to see the Premiership Cup carried proudly by the club's stars, including our own Grant Birchall."

Ms Giddings said Tasmania would receive invaluable exposure as a result of the sponsorship deal, which has been described as one of the best sports marketing deals in Australia by marketing guru Max Markson.

"Win, lose or draw, the Tasmanian brand will be beamed into homes across the country and even internationally as a highly visual reminder for people to visit our beautiful state.

"Of course, I will be cheering for a win and I wish the Tassie Hawks all the best for the big game."
