Access Working Group Appoints Consultant Mon 7 May 2012 Scott Bacon Minister for Tourism The Minister for Tourism, Scott Bacon, today announced that Airbiz Aviation Strategies Pty Ltd (Airbiz) has been appointed to work with the Access Working Group and industry stakeholders on the development of the Tasmanian Access Strategy. "Access issues are not only vital for our tourism and hospitality sectors but it's essential for the growth of our economy," Mr Bacon said. "Airbiz has a strong understanding of these issues, and their work will play an important role in informing the deliberations of the Access Working Group and the development of the Tasmanian Access Strategy." Mr Bacon said up to $50,000 had been committed for the consultancy to assist in the analysis of Tasmania's regional and interstate access situation. "Through the long-term Access Strategy, we are working to deliver sustainable growth in services to and from Tasmania, which will deliver broader benefits across business and industry," he said. "Airbiz will work closely with both the Working Group and industry stakeholders as it completes the report which is expected to be finalised by the end of July." The Access Working Group involves representatives from the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hobart and Launceston Airports, TT Line, Tasmanian Hospitality Association and the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania.
