At the State Government’s request, Aurora has agreed to make a change to the price paid by eligible concession customers for Pay As You Go (PAYG) electricity.
What this means is that the average price increases for eligible PAYG concession customers will now be the same as the increase recently approved by the independent Regulator for other electricity users. This translates into an average saving of $90 in the current financial year to the 17,000 eligible PAYG concession customers.
This is in addition to the existing concession for pensioners and health care card-holders already worth $319 per year.
The Government will also be asking the regulator to assess recent PAYG price rises and whether PAYG should be regulated from July 1, 2010.
