Premier's Address to the Parliament 2013 The Premier, Lara Giddings, used her address to Parliament, to further outline her Government’s agenda for 2013 which focusses on jobs, people and opportunities. The agenda is backed by proven policy initiatives, including the Tasmanian Jobs Package which has already contributed to the announcement of 750 jobs at Vodafone in Kingston. Highlights of the speech include: Funding to create an additional 370 full time jobs in the wine industry, which is expected to quadruple in size over the next decade. Ruling out forced redundancies in the public service. The release of the terms of reference for an inquiry into this summer’s devastating bushfires that will be available for public comment. The Premier also used the occasion to detail parts of the Government’s People Agenda, which includes fully funding pay rises for community sector workers, boosting concessions for vulnerable Tasmanians and streamlining access to public housing across the Government and not-for-profit sectors.
