Cressy On Sunday 30th October the Premier and Cabinet held a community forum at Cressy district high school. The Premier, Minister Nick McKim and the Honourable Michael Polley MP started off the day with a tour of the school with Principal Annette Hollingsworth. The Federal Labor Government’s Building the Education Revolution funding has given the school a science upgrade as well as a refurbishment of the Gymnasium and the Kindergarten learning and play areas. The Cressy district high school parents and friends association, along with some assistance from a few students cooked up a BBQ feast, ensuring everyone had enough sustenance to get them through the afternoon. The Cressy district high school choir’s performance ensured the afternoon’s formalities started off on the right note. Mayor Kim Polley outlined the issues that the Northern Midlands Council would be raising with the Premier and Cabinet at their meeting on Monday 31st October. The Premier outlined the current state of the budget and the reasons behind some of the tough budget decisions. Community members raised a wide variety of issues with ministers and senior members of departments during the afternoon’s appointments. A common topic was the forest industry exit package, the Nile river log Jam, and health service needs of the community
