On Sunday 5 October 2008, Cabinet travelled to Bicheno for the fourth in a series of ongoing community forums.

In a local address, the Premier, David Bartlett praised Bicheno for its close linked community, stating that it was a Tasmanian success story with much to give to the state’s economy and social fabric.

Through tourism, fishing, wine and strong local communities, the area has contributed a great deal not only to economic development in this State but to our image as a friendly and relaxed place to visit.

On Monday 6 October, Cabinet met with the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council and participated in community and business visits in the surrounding area.

While in Bicheno, the Premier announced a $5000 grant for the Bicheno Tennis Club, which will go towards the cost of fencing and resurfacing work.
