For Braddon that means more funding for health and education, and support for community, sporting and infrastructure projects that create jobs and improve people’s lives. Projects in Bass over the next four years include:

North West Regional Cancer Centre – $14.5 million

Caterpillar Transition Taskforce – $3 million

Burnie LINC – $2.8 million

Parklands High School – $9.1 million

North West Special School relocation – $3.7 million

Wynyard High School trade training rooms – $180,000

Somerset CBD Redevelopment – $250,000

Move Mineral Resources Tasmania to Burnie – $1 million

Burnie Pool – $2.25 million

Resurfacing of Burnie tennis court – $250,000

Smithton High School – $7 million

Arthur-Pieman Tracks – $300,000

Dip Falls Bridge – $70,000

Latrobe High School – $10 million

Devonport High School – $650,000

WEST COAST

Rosebery District High School extension to year 12^

Mountain Heights School extension to year 12^

Murchison Highway – $12.3 million

Zeehan Neighbourhood House – $25,000*

West Coast Trails projects – $880,000

West Coast bus trial – $100,000~

While Tasmania is now heading in the right direction we must continue to build on the economic momentum created over the past year – that is what the 2015-16 Budget sets out to achieve.

All Tasmanians will benefit from a range of statewide initiatives that are aimed at creating jobs and encouraging investment. By maintaining Budget discipline we are able to invest record amounts to improve health and education outcomes, along with public safety. We are also supporting those in the community who need it most.

JOBS AND THE ECONOMY

Rail infrastructure – $120 million^

Business and Jobs Attraction Scheme – $8 million

First Home Builders Boost – $5 million

Regional Revival Fund – additional $5 million

Planning Reform – $2.6 million

Irrigation projects – $90 million^

Priority parks infrastructure maintenance – $8 million

New tourism and events funding – $7.9 million

HEALTH

Additional investment in Frontline Health – $I00 million

RHH Redevelopment – $495.6 million

Health infrastructure upgrades – additional $8.3 million

Patient Transport investment – $24 million

Ice and Other Drugs Strategy – $4.8 million

EDUCATION

Reinvigorating Tasmanian High Schools – $68 million

Gonski funding – additional $21 million
